A decade later, in 1977, as a result of the constant commitment to innovation, the first electric fusion furnace was inaugurated in Sant Andreu de la Barca, Barcelona.

From this moment on, the company stops transforming products for third parties and begins to manufacture steel autonomously, allowing it to increase its production and market share.

With the entry of the new millennium, the company’s international expansion begins through the creation of CELSA Steel UK in Cardiff, United Kingdom, and CELSA Huta in Ostroweic, Poland. The success of both operations is the triggering factor of a globalizing process that is beginning to take shape and consolidate.

Celsa expands its international projection with the creation of CELSA Nordic, made up of various processing companies located in different countries in northern Europe, and CELSA France, located in Bayonne. Not only that, a year later, we expanded our presence in the United Kingdom and Ireland with the acquisition of BRC, ROM Group and Express Reinforcements.
